Monday 16th August at 3pm. Falls of Shin would like to Present The Sutherland Schools Pipe Band performing with The Calgary Police Pipe Band
We are Proud to present the Sutherland Schools Pipe Band who will be performing with The Calgary Police Pipe Band, whom are visiting from there home in Canada.
BBQ will be available from Noon (weather permitting)
Please come and join us in offering them a true highland welcome.
Why not take the family along for a fun day out – as well as listening to wonderful Scottish music of the Pipe Band's .
Take the opportunity to watch the Salmon leap up the falls, enjoy a forest trail walk, play mini golf or take part in a geo cache forest hunt with all the family. Not to mention the kids adventure play park!.
A selection of plants and herbs are now available to purchase, hand selected by the Estate's Head Gardener.

Salmon Sightings
Salmon are starting their journey back to Loch Shin and we have seen many attempts of them battling their way back up our Falls to return to their place of birth. This is such an awesome sight, no matter how many times you may have seen it before, from the Viewing Platform. If you have never witnessed it, Hurry along soon and prepare to be amazed. Bring your camera and capture this unforgettable natural feat.

Help for Heroes Update
Thanks to all your efforts we have sent £979.21 to Help for Heroes, collecting tins are at our tills, please continue to give what you can; we are planning an Art Exhibition & Auction on Thursday 12th August 2010, and have started collecting exhibits and promises of work from local artists. So far, Alistair Hughes, from Wick, has donated a painting of a leaping salmon at the Falls, Margo Bridge, from Ardgay has donated 2 watercolours, Karim Fayed, John Lippett and Marjo Hallowell have promised photographs.
Lots will be on display at Falls of Shin in advance - space permitting, we will be open for viewing 2 hours before the Auction. More information to follow.

Activities
We are planning some Saturday Events for the summer months including Paintballing, Army Assault Course, a Cycling Challenge, so keep looking back regularly for more information.
Bring the whole family out for Lunch this weekend - Main meals served from 12noon - Take advantage of our outdoor children's play area, and Mini Golf at just £2 for Adults - £1.50 for Children - or £5 for a Family of 4.

July - The young musicians from The Sutherland Ceildh Trail will be performing live here from Noon on Sunday 18th July and Thursday 29th July. Come along and show support for some of Sutherland's finest musical talent.
August - Art Exhibition and Auction in aid of Help for Heroes
September - Vintage Car Rally
October - 31st - Hallowe'en Fancy Dress Event
November - 6th - Guy Fawkes Night Event; Christmas Toy Fair
December - Usual Fun Weekend Events featuring Bubbles the Clown, Magic, and Balloon Animals, with guest appearances from Santa.
