Getting to Falls of Shin
Falls of Shin Visitor Centre is about one hour’s scenic drive north of Inverness and is well signposted from the A9. It is just off the B864 which is reached from A836 between Bonar Bridge and Lairg. There is plenty of easy parking at the centre.
From the NORTH: From the NORTH: Connect to the A9 and travel south to Golspie. A few miles south of Golspie take the A839 to Lairg and then follow the tourist signs.
From the WEST: From the WEST: Head for Dingwall. Connect to the A9 via the A862, then take the A836 just past Tain and follow the tourist signs.
From the SOUTH: From the SOUTH: Head for Inverness and follow the signs for the Kessock Bridge and A9 North, then once past Tain take the A836 and follow the tourist signs.
By train, the best station for Falls of Shin is Lairg, though it is about 4 miles away.
